It’s a Young Thing is predominately a web based children’s clothing business that operates world wide and receives over 1500 orders per day. It’s a Young Thing has several distribution centres around the UK and is currently trying to establish further outlets in Europe.
Brief:
Director and owner Jessie O’Reilly contact San-IT through a recommendation. Her request was to be able to manage stock at all of the distribution centres and to have stock synchronised with the website for real time stocking levels.
Jessie said “cost is becoming an issue as we are increasing transferring stock from one warehouse to another to fore fill orders. We are also concerned as this is increasing the lead time for the customers to the point where certain items are on back order. We need a cost effective solution that will enable us to see exactly what stock we have where and at what quantity.”
Solution:
San-IT recommended Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System.
RMS Headquarters was installed at all of the distribution centres. This solution helped It’s a Young Thing to manage a range of store operations and customer marketing tasks whilst gathering and processing data from all of the distribution centres.
RMS was also integrated into the web interface so customers could see stocking levels and availability. It also gave the ability to process payments and electronically process the order through to packing without user intervention.
